Bought the Green.L 49mm ND8 filter for USD5.99 from dx.com. Here’s a first look at the filter with some unboxing and simple test shots.
The following are sample shots straight from the Canon PowerShot S100 without editing. All shots are with the following settings:
Aperture: F4
Focal Length: 12.595
Focus: Auto
Flash: Off
Exposure: 0.4 Seconds
ISO: 200
White Balance: Auto
File settings: JPEG, M2, 4:3
Turning on the camera’s built-in ND filter which is also 3-stops equivalent (Same as a ND8).
Shot with the Green.L 49mm ND8 filter fixed onto CarrySpeed 49mm filter adapter.
Although this simple indoor test of the Green.L 49mm ND8 filter is a bad way to illustrate how the filter performs. At least it shows that the Green.L ND8 filter produces the same photo effect as the built-in ND filter of the Canon PowerShot S100.
To achieve 6-stops reduction of light out of the Canon PowerShot S100, I can simply turn on the built-in ND filter, then mount the Green.L ND8 filter onto it. (Stacking of digital and a physical ND filter).
Will need to do some outdoor test shots to give a better review of the Green.L 49mm ND8 filter.
